Dr. Megan Leclair

I was born in Richmond, B.C. where I attended the University of British Columbia. I graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science (Agr.). As a child who would "surgically" remove tags from my stuffed animals, it was clear to me that a career in veterinary medicine was an obvious choice. I continued my studies at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, graduating in 2005. After graduation, fate brought me to the great city of Winnipeg were I met my husband and we have managed to fill our home with 3 wonderful children, 2 cats and a dog.

I started at the Charleswood Veterinary Clinic in 2007 and thoroughly enjoy all aspects of general practice, including medicine, surgery and dentistry. I love seeing the bond between pets and their families grow from those first few puppy and kitten visits to their senior years. It makes each day a rewarding one.

Dr. Mhairi Tully

I have been part of the Charleswood team since 2006. I attended the University of Manitoba after graduating high school and then went on to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine where I graduated in 2001. I had grandiose ideas of mixed practice and specifically dairy production medicine upon graduation but life happens and sometimes for the better.

I couldn't ask for better colleagues than the team at Charleswood Vet Clinic. We very much look at the care of our patients as a team effort with the common goal of their wellbeing. We've been a part of the Charleswood community for many years now due to the amazing clients allowing us to practice the best medicine we can provide.

Dr. Julie Whelen

I grew up in southwestern Ontario where I attended the Ontario Veterinary College. I graduated in 1992 and spent the next 20 years at the Kenora Veterinary Clinic. I moved to Winnipeg in the spring of 2012 and began at the Charleswood Veterinary Clinic.

While not at the clinic,
I am allowed to share my home with 2 cats, Jim and Dan. I enjoy running and triathlon. I also volunteer at a number of events and races.

Dr. Fiona Mulhern

I grew up in Winnipeg and since a young age wanted to be a veterinarian. I received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba prior to attending the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. I graduated in 2013 and started practicing in a rural setting. This gave me a wealth of experience, from routine medicine to emergency care. In 2015, I moved back to Winnipeg and joined the Charleswood Veterinary Clinic. I am fortunate to be a part of a great team that strives to provide the best care for our patients.

I frequently bring my French Bulldog, Olive to work where she is spoiled by her second family. While my rescue cat, Felix is happy to stay home.

Dr. Heather Bassey
I grew up in the Charleswood area, and since a very young age had the goal of becoming a veterinarian. I left Winnipeg to attended the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. I did not last long living without pets while at school as I quickly acquired my two Maine Coon cats - Simon and Arthur. I returned to Winnipeg to begin practicing after graduating in 2017. I have a particular interest in Fear Free medicine and believe in making veterinary visits as low stress as possible through gentle handling and positive reinforcement. I joined the Charleswood Veterinary Clinic team in April 2018. It has been such a pleasure to be back in my community and to be working alongside such supportive and caring staff.

Even while taking on each challenge with ease, Amy is kept busy at home with her new baby girl, and Lab cross, Jazz.

Caitlin, RVT
Caitlin graduated from the Red River College Animal Health Technology program in 2013 and joined our team in 2017. She most enjoys the laboratory portion of working at the clinic: hematology, urinalysis and cytology. She is passionate about feline wellness and behaviour and proves this by sharing her home with five kitties - Sophie, Nova, Tank, Riley and Lucas. Jenessa is also certified in equine massage therapy as she has a special interest in physical rehabilitation. Her horse, Gunner, is very lucky! She also has a fluffy long-haired kitty named Leonardo DiCatrio and an extremely loveable Golden Retriever named Goose. Wendy
Wendy is a Charleswood Veterinary Clinic fixture. She began at our clinic in September 2001 after working in various medical-related assistant positions in both human and animal settings. You can expect to see Wendy bright and early in the morning as she is typically our opening gal. Wendy's tremendous compassion and enormous heart has us all truly believing there is a spot in her heart for everyone that walks through the front door.
The Charleswood Vet has populated Wendy's home with many little critters over the years which include her English Cocker Spaniel - Ryder and two kitties - Licorice & Emmy that she has now.

Jordan
Jordan joined the Charleswood team as a Veterinary Assistant in the fall of 2014 after spending 3 years at our sister clinic, Crestview Veterinary Hospital.  She is currently working on her application to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. Though she has been working with dogs and cats, her career interest points toward working in a mixed practice (large and small animals). She has acquired a wide range of animal training and behaviour experience while working with her Border Collies, Tempest and Flare, in a variety of dog sports growing up.
Jordan and her dogs are avid hikers and have traveled across the country on many of their adventures. She would be lying if she said she didn't buy a doggie backpack to carry her French Bulldog, Lentil, along for the ride.

Tyler

Tyler is another one of our valuable Veterinary Assistants. He joined our team in 2019. Tyler has been a part of the animal world since 2010 as he has worked at a local animal shelter for many years. He has also spent a lot of his free time helping out local rescues by volunteering at numerous spay and neuter events. Tyler never fails to bring a laughter to the clinic and is always ready to lend a helping hand.
At home he has a very spoiled, very sassy rescue cat named Zella Day.
